| For the second time in the last five years, several Kenilworth wrestlers
made the trek up to Oneco, CT for the Annual Team Cobra wrestling festival.
The festival is an outdoor wrestling tournament that is held at the
Riverbend Campground. Some matches are contested under a permanent
pavilion while others are held under make-shift tents with tarps tied to
the basketball hoops. (At least we finally found a use for basketball
hoops-see picture). The purpose of the trip is never just about wrestling
but rather about TEAM and Family. The weekend away allows time for the
wrestlers and coaches to build comradery outside of the grueling winter
season. A total of 15 wrestlers and seven coaches were included on the
final manifesto with six wrestlers claiming the top prize. A list of all
competitors and champs are listed below as well as some pictures from the
weekend. |
